If you suspect that your spouse is having an affair, the best way to find out if this is true is to hire a private investigation firm such as ours. We have the knowledge and skill to uncover an affair, but you must think about a few things before you hire a company to investigate your spouse. The following are among the most important things to consider first.
Do you really want to know?
If you ask a person whether they would want to know if their spouse is cheating on them, most people will tell you they would. Not only that, but they will answer quickly as if there is no doubt about it. If you hire our firm and your spouse is cheating on you, the chances are great that our private investigators will find evidence of it. The problem is that you need to think it through first. It’s not that ignorance is bliss, but you must be prepared for the consequences which come from catching a spouse cheating. At the very least, there will be emotional pain, and your marriage will never be the same. At worst, your marriage will be over, and your life will take a different route than planned.
Keep in mind that your suspicions could be false, and no evidence of infidelity is uncovered. Because our private investigators are discreet, your spouse will never know that he or she was under investigation. But as a rule, you should be prepared for bad news regardless of what we find out.
What will you do with this information?
Not every marriage that experiences a cheating partner ends in divorce. Marriages do survive infidelity. It is quite possible that your marriage may be one that does as well. However, you must think about what to do with the information provided by a private investigator. You will likely need marriage counseling, so you need to think about whether your spouse is someone likely to want couples therapy to save the marriage. You also need to take the time to decide whether you are ready to make this commitment as well, and if you would be willing to forgive and forget.
Plan ahead for a divorce
If your spouse is in fact cheating, you may consider divorce your only option. Ideally, you should think about this before you find out the outcome of the investigation. It is likely that your spouse will get angry and even try to deny the affair once they are confronted with the evidence. Later, when they conclude that their marriage is going to end in divorce, they may even try to hide assets from you. To prevent this from happening, it is best to have us locate all assets prior to you asking for the divorce. Once you have all the information collected, any attempt at hiding assets from you and your divorce attorney will be nearly impossible.
If you suspect that your spouse is having an affair, do not confront him or her about it prematurely. You could be wrong and hurt your marriage, or you could be right and give your spouse a chance to cover up evidence of their infidelity. Call us, and we can talk to you about the specific services that we offer to catch a cheating spouse.
