There are many signs that your spouse may be cheating on you, but without evidence, it is only speculation. There are, however, many ways to uncover evidence of infidelity. And with today’s technology combined with the skills of a private investigator, cheating spouses cannot hide their activities.
GPS Tracking Devices
Global positioning system (GPS) technology is something you are likely familiar with, especially as a navigation device for your car. However, there are small devices that can be attached to a car to track the vehicle’s movements with the driver unaware of it.
This can be an important tool in the hands of a private investigator who doesn’t have much information about an individual’s movements. Although an important tool, they can be used illegally, so you need to know the laws.
Night Vision
Sometimes it is not possible to get close enough at night to see what a person is doing. But with the advent of infrared goggles, a private investigator is able to scope out the movements and actions of a person when there is limited light.
Often an individual may think that they will go unnoticed in the dark of the night, but a good private investigator can overcome this obstacle with infrared devices. This technology can be combined with photography to take pictures of a secret rendezvous between two people. It can also help get license plate numbers of vehicles that can be used to identify the parties involved.
Hidden Cameras and Listening Devices
Both cameras and listening devices have become very small and are designed to record and save data. The device can then be retrieved later to see or listen to the information that was recorded.
There is a lot of skill and experience involved in knowing how best to locate these devices. And more importantly, there knowing what is against the law. In some circumstances, recording in your own home may be illegal. The laws vary by state. Although recording someone may be tempting, this technology is best left to a professional investigator.
Smartphones
Like most people, you probably have a smartphone. What you may not be aware of is that it can be turned into a surveillance device. There are apps that can be installed on your spouse’s phone that can track the phone’s movement. In this capacity, a smartphone is similar to a GPS device; however, usually to do this legally, both your phone and your spouse’s phone will need to be on the same service plan. And, of course, there is always the chance of being detected by your spouse.
While modern technology has helped private investigators immensely, it is important to understand that this same technology, in the hands of an amateur, can do more harm than good. You can easily be discovered by your spouse by attempting to spy on him or her, and it is easy to cross over the line between legal and illegal. Our firm has experience with high-tech surveillance devices and procedures, and we can get the evidence you seek.
