In 2009 private investigator and Tristar Investigation founder Bruce Robertson was recruited to track down the person or persons responsible for shooting two endangered California Condors. This was the first time a private detective had been used in this type of case. The story was first featured in the San Francisco Chronicle and numerous other publications throughout the U.S, including the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times. Mr. Robertson searched an area of more than 7,000 square miles of the California Condor range in central and southern California.
